One day in New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray was in a club when she witnessed a murder by three people that looked extremely strange and dangerous with lots of tattoos and weapons but there is one boy with blond hair that Clary just can't look away from. All of a sudden the three teenagers banish leaving no trace of the murder that just happened.
The next day she finds her mother calling her while she is in a coffee shop. She also see's the blond boy from the the club last night that murdered a person. Extremely confused Clary goes to talk with the boy, but her mother still calls, She picks up.
24 hours later her mom is nowhere to be found like she never existed, Clary also finds out that the boy with blond hair is something called a Shadowhunter which they hunt and kill demons.
But why would her mother just disappear like that leaving no clue of where she was? and why are there demons attacking her?
