This book is based on a boy named August. August didn't grow up as a normal child would. he had a deformed face, with that he chooses to be home schooled. August didn't have very much friends. He has a sister, a mom and dad. Until one day when August goes to 5th grade in a private school. This worries August as his face is deformed making him feel self conscious around other people. August want's to prove to everyone that he is a normal kid and that just because he has a deformed face it does not mean that he can't be normal and go to school like a normal child would. This new school isn't so bad with making new friends that accept him and features nothing could go wrong until a shattering lie that will break August heart into pieces.
Wonder by R.J. Palacio is non fiction, heart warming book about the real world and discovering what friendship is. Wonder will put a smile on your face when you're lest expecting it.
